Petra Havelska, Architect
 
 
 

 

  Petra is an architect, communicator and enabler of creative projects. She co-founded the London-based urban design and research consultancy Marko&Placemakers with Igor Marko in 2013, following their long-term collaboration on successful public realm projects including the award-winning Irwell River Park strategy. The team is involved on a variety of projects from public realm strategies to masterplanning and socio-economic studies in the UK, Europe and Asia, addressing social, environmental and economic issues that cities face today.

Petra grew up in Slovakia and studied architecture in Vienna before moving to London in 2006, where she worked within several established architecture practices including McAslan&Partners and as project manager led innovative housing developments for Solidspace. Pursuing her role as facilitator of good quality built environment, she completed a masters’ in Creative Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths, University of London, developing an understanding of business, management and communication across different disciplines.

Alongside practice, Petra has been a tutor, curator and coordinator of numerous initiatives and authored a book on the future role of architects Together Alone – Architecture and Collaboration (Artistbooks UK, 2011).
