Maria Tsemani (Dip Arch-NTUA, MSc EDE UCL) is a fully qualified architect with expertise in sustain-ability. After completing her studies in architecture she worked indi-vidually on residential projects and refurbishments using traditional stone building techniques as well as modern concrete, and low cost construction methods. Following her work experience in 2012 she specialized in environmental design in built environment during her Master Degree in Environmental Design and Engineering in UCL Bartlett School of Graduate Studies. During her degree she did a re-search on intelligent facades and innovative energy producing ap-plications worldwide. She studied in detail the first algae bioreactor facade applied in building context. Maria joined the Facility in 2013 and offers her expertise in the design of sustainable buildings, implementing progressive passive design techniques and innovative technologies. She also responsible for the design of ventilation and energy strategies and carries out BREEAM assessments.
